Flood Brook School

Roaring Tiger

Volume LVIII, Issue 4 October 20, 2023

From the Principal

Dear Flood Brook Families,

Thank you to the 50 families who attended our Curriculum Night last night, the teachers were grateful for the opportunity to share information about what they are truly passionate about- teaching your children!  It is not often that we get long periods of time to discuss the instructional materials we use, our daily routines and practices, teaching pedagogy and what books, projects and standards we are selecting to focus on.  We received many thanks from parents as they left, if anyone has any specific feedback or thoughts on Curriculum Night, Sonja and I would love to hear them.

Youth Weekend Deer Pool

We will have a deer pool for Youth Weekend and the regular rifle season for all of our student and faculty hunters.  For Youth Weekend there will be 2 prizes, one for heaviest deer and one for the most points.  If your young hunter is successful this weekend, please send a picture of the hunter and deer with the weight and number of points if it's a buck to Ryan Comar at rcomar@brsu.org so it can be put on the bulletin board.  Youth weekend prizes will be handed out sometime next week and regular season prizes will be handed out after the Thanksgiving break.

From the Kitchen:

Please remember:

Milk as part of a reimbursable meal - free

Milk alone - cost $0.50

We have observed an increase in the number of children opting for just milk, which results in charges being applied to their mealtime accounts. To avoid accumulating a negative balance, we kindly request that you monitor your online account regularly.
